Milkdromeda – THE MERGER OF TWO WORLDS
In 4 billion years, the Milky Way Galaxy and Andromeda Galaxy are predicted to merge, based on data from the Hubble Space Telescope. The result of the collision will be a new, larger galaxy.
The work focuses on the aspect of deep time, based on the evolution of our near cosmos. A planetary perspective on human life versus non-human forms brings to mind not only vast spatial, but also immense temporal dimensions. A deep time perspective reveals the co-evolution of biological and mineral species in complexities and scales that point to powerful cosmological and geological forces.
